You have truly created some beautiful frames and being the people you are, you are giving the frame a content made of carat. It's been a week where I've enjoyed every minute.

I've learned about kairos, the slow time. Now I have new energy to go home and live the busy time again!

Siri, Trondheim, Norway

Welcome to Kairos Garden, a small, family run hotel located on the edge of the village Eleftheres in northern Greece. This is the place for a totally relaxing, laid-back Greek holiday, a holiday for body and soul. The stunning views to olive groves, vineyards and fruit orchards sloping towards the sea, the quiet surroundings and the peaceful atmosphere let you unwind and recharge your batteries. Here you can enjoy the birds singing and the sound of your own thoughts.

The Greeks have two terms for time: Cronos, which is used about the restricted time, the time ruled by hours and minutes, by appointments and schedules. Then there is Kairos, which is when time and destiny meet. Cronos is quantitative, while Kairos is quality time. The daemon Kairos, youngest son of Zeus, is pictured with wings on his feet and back as a symbol of transitoriness and with a long lock of hair so that you have a chance to grab him.

Here is no rush. No satellite television, internet or telephones. Go for a stroll, sit on the terrace or in the garden with a book, enjoy a good meal and a glass of local wine in our family restaurant, which is situated in the garden. Take it easy. Kairos is time to be you.

From time to time we arrange workshops and holistic activity holidays, see the the program for 2009 here. We also offer several holistic wellness treatments to our guests.

For those of you who love to be physically active during your vacation we recommend activities like like rock climbing, walking or hiking in our beautiful mountains, bicycling and sailing. And if you love good food and wine - and you probably do! - you'd want to join us for our popular tour of local vineyards, including wine tasting. And why not add a Greek cooking lesson?

Though we are only a short bus ride away from some of the best beaches in Greece, a holiday in Kairos Garden is also a holiday for those of you who'd like to do something more than just lie on the beach. Actually, holidays here are great all year around, not only in the summer!

We hope to see here you soon!
Love
Tove and Christos

Read a free extract in English from my book about life in a Greek village. The book was published in Norway in 2005 and describes how a foreign woman (me!) sees life in Greece. The village in the book is called Paradiso, but Eleftheres and the inhabitants here was a strong inspiration! This was my second book about Greece. The first, "A Year in Greece", which was also published in Norway, describes customs, food and holidays in Greece.
